- This project is required for my Comm462 class in order to demonstrate basic typography and design experience. We are required to represent ourselves in a self-portrait collage.
- My name is Alli and I think a big thing to sum me up is: I’m all about being cultured. I love having an open mind and seeing things from different perspectives and being exposed to other points of view. I am from Burley, Idaho. No, I have never have been cow-tipping, but I did manage to find ambition and dream big in high school. I played soccer and it became one of my many passions and really built my character. I also enjoyed getting involved in pretty much everything that there was to offer. There isn’t much to do in Burley, so I was involved in everything from marching band, to theater, to yearbook, and even student council. It really opened up a wide variety of experiences for me. I love to stay active and enjoy life. Some of my other hobbies include photography, guitar, and listening to music. Something that people would never guess about me is that I’m really good at Tetris, embarrassingly good. I’ve also always had a common theme of “do what is right, let the consequence follow” and I’m a firm believer that putting the Lord first will always bring the greatest results. All in all, I’m just a simple girl trying to figure out what I’m doing and why I’m here and learn something along the way.
- I began this project by creating a basic design with illustrator. I really enjoy the argyle style and teal is very appealing to me. I then found a quote that I feel appropriately represents me. I went to dafont.com to find fonts. I thought these two fonts worked well together and are aesthetically pleasing. The photos are basic but I feel like they create a light mood for the way I would like to represent myself. I tend to try to be a lighter and happier person.
- The first photo is of my best friend, Sophia Tateoka, and I. She recently returned home from serving a mission in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is like family to me and I'm so grateful for her and all that she does for me. The second photo is a "selfie" of me. I was walking to class and passed myself in a mirror and quickly realized that I found Waldo! I really like this photo because it shows my sense of humor. The third photo is the most silly. My roommates and I decided to do facemasks as means of bonding. We took this photo and it's a great memory that I will always treasure.
- Teal is one of my favorite colors, first and foremost which is why I chose it as a background. I also feel like the quote is something I try to live my life by. I try to focus on the needs of others and remember that it's not always important to be right, but to do what is right. The photos represent how important my close friends and family are to me. These photos show how much memories mean to me.
